Would You Want This To Happen To You?

Have you ever read a story or watched a movie and said to yourself: “I’m glad this didn’t happen to me.” You may not realize it, but with identity theft, it could have happened to you and you not even realize it yet! Yes, the damage done to your credit will eventually come to light, but when will you realize it. Will it be when you go to apply for a loan? Will it be when you apply for a credit card? Will it be when you go to withdraw money from your bank account and it is overdrawn? Will it be when you are being pursued for non-payment on an account that you never opened?

These are questions that need to be pondered. The average person does not think about identity theft until they have already been targeted. As the previous posts show, it does not take much to steal a person’s identity. This is the same as stealing one’s life and it takes time to get that life back.  In many cases, it won’t ever be the same.

Some may not want to take the time to enroll in an identity theft protection service, so they decide to take preventative measures on their own. That is fine, just be sure to look into all advice available on how to do this on your own before doing so. Missing just one piece of the puzzle could mean you are not protected. What if your identity is stolen while you are not covered by an identity theft service? Will you have the time, patience and knowledge it takes to begin recovering from such a financial blow? One whose identity is still in tact is calm and rational. Once an identity is stolen, panic sets in. All of the number to call, documents to replace, reports to file, etc. can be overwhelming. It wouldn’t hurt to have a specialist help with that, would it? Would it be worth having one who charges less than $10 per month? We guarantee that the cost is much less than the cost of having to hire someone to help you after it has happened.

so true, the best thing to do is chek your credit report now. Question anything you don’t recognize. You might be surprised.
