Radisson Hotel Guests
According to their corporate website, Radisson Hotels & Resorts have had a recent data breach of credit card numbers between November 2008 and May 2009. They are working closely with law enforcement and other authorities to analyze the situation, however, the number of names and credit card numbers affected has not yet been released. They are reporting that no social security numbers were accessed in this breach. (more…)
Warning To Batteries.com Customers
According to their website, in March of this year, online retailer Batteries.com learned of a hacker that had access to their customer records. A customer reported to them that there was unauthorized activity regarding a credit account and the company launched an investigation. Records that were potentially accessible were names, addresses and credit card information. (more…)

Another Big Company, Countless Victims
In researching the types of identity theft and occurrences of identity theft, we find more and more that a lot of the larger companies are either targeted or become victims of the professional ID Theft criminal. They either lose track of a laptop, or have a desktop computer hacked. Every once in a while, it is due to an employee who no longer keeps information confidential. Since we all have to give out personal information in order to conduct business with certain companies, wouldn’t it be a good idea to have a way of detecting whether or not that information is being compromised sooner than later?
