A Plea To Our Readers: Help Law Enforcement Stop Identity Theft

Thank you for becoming a reader of IDTheftNews.com. Our goal is to help stop the crime of identity theft from taking thousands of people as its victim. We are a big supporter of LifeLock identity theft protection services because of the valuable part it plays in protecting those who have not protected themselves from becoming a victim. We applaud the efforts of law enforcement officials to bring identity thieves to justice, however, it is not an easy job and they need our help.

“Teach yourself as much as you can about ID theft and how to protect yourself. There are preventive measures you can take getting a fraud alert, having your credit reports checked, on a regular basis and being vigilant,” says Wayne Ivey, agent in charge at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

We will continue to inform our readers by publishing data breaches and identity theft news. Our goal is to be a large part of stopping the crime of identity theft in its tracks and it will take awareness and education nationwide to do so. Law Enforcement officials nationwide have already taken steps to put an end to this crime. Let’s help them by educating everyone we know. Share any helpful information you find with everyone you know and care about so that they will not become a victim. How many people do you know who might not be aware of the prevalence of identity theft? It is not highlighted enough in the local news outlets, we must help spread the word.

“We’ve got to use technology to put up this barrier to put up a front line of defense for consumers so they do not have to live in fear, looking over their shoulder every day, just waiting for them to be that next statistic,” said Todd Davis, CEO of LifeLock.

On top of all of the tips and suggestions that have been published in our blog, be sure to immediately file a police report that provides details of the crime. This will help tremendously in clearing up matters with credit card companies, banks, etc.

Be sure to research the benefit of LifeLock’s protection. Don’t become a victim of such a huge crime.
