Lifelock.com
This website is a must when doing research on which identity theft protection service you want to buy for yourself and your family. One reason why looking at Lifelock.com is so important is because not many services out there will offer help with protection for children. Many parents may think that identity theft protection services for children are not necessary, and yet there are children all over the nation having their identities stolen every day. While it is true that many child identities are stolen by people they know, there are also many who are not stolen by people they know. The website features a testimonial from a young man who was an identity theft victim for years before he realized it. His identity was stolen when he was 7 and he didn’t find out until he was 17! You can do a little more research into his story on the internet.
Many of you do not have families to be concerned with protecting, you just need protection for yourself. Visit the website for services that will protect you when someone tries to use your name and social security number to apply for credit or open a new account. Other services include reducing the amount of pre-approved credit card offers you receive and reducing junk mail, which we can all do without.
There are also video clips titled “LifeLock In The News” that will explain more about what LifeLock does and how it can help you. Featured videos are shown from CNN, MSNBC, Montel Williams and various news stations from local markets.
If you decide to sign up on Lifelock’s website, be sure to use promotion code Defense for a discount off the regular website price.
Today Show Investigates Identity Theft
According to the Secret Service, cyber crimes are growing at an alarming rate. Children tend to download music and other filesharing programs off the web all the time. What parents don’t realize is that thieves can use these downloads to steal your identity from your computer. Your online shopping, copies of your tax returns, and more.
Todd Davis, LifeLock CEO, was consulted to discuss the harm that these filesharing programs cause. LifeLock staff were able to find copies of hundreds of tax returns online, unknowingly to the tax payers. These returns contain names, social security numbers and refund information. Thieves stole the tax return of a family interviewed. There is also a short segment where secret service agents have found credit card information online.

What identity theft monitoring service has the best id theft protection? There are many places where you can go for the answer to this question, such as: TopConsumerReviews.com
While not everyone agrees that paying for this type of service is necessary, will those same people help you restore your credit rating when you take their advice and try to do this on your own? Getting LifeLock identity theft protection service is cheaper per month than one meal out to eat. Considering that it keeps your credit in check, it is worth the enrollment. (more…)

The FAA has notified employees this week that a computer was accessed illegally and personal information was affected. Those who are concerned can view the agency employee website and call the toll free number posted. The breach affects more than 45,000 employees and retirees due to computer hackers.
