If you read up on lifelock, you will find out that it is designed to work even after someone steals your personal information. That's why the CEO flashes his social security number all over the place. Someone may be able to get ahold of your identity if you have lifelock, but they can't use it to hurt your credit. If the thief tries to use it for anything, the lifelock guys will nail him. They're confident enough to have a 1 million dollar guarantee too. Even if someone ever did get your money, you wouldn't lose a dime.

The moral of the story: If you don't want people to know your personal information, don't get involved in politics. If you don't want people using your personal information to steal your money, get lifelock.

I doubt LifeLock would have protected Joe the Plumber. Either people steal your identity, or they don't.
